The most beautiful and well-maintained park we have been to so far. The staff clearly takes pride in this place. Lots of trees. The grass was freshly mowed. The sites and bath houses were clean. The pool was large and clean. Even the annual sites are neat. My only complaint is that the seasonal guests were rude. We are not noisy or rude visitors. One lady yelled at me that kids had run through her site. No ma'am, my kids were all on my golf cart with me. Another neighbor complained because kids playing in my site made their dogs bark. Sorry. Your dogs are your problem.
The staff is mostly friendly, except the horse handler seemed grumpy. We loved the farm animals and treats are available in the store for a fair price. All in all, we would visit again but probably camp on the other side of the park.
Camped here in our RV on a trip to see the Gettysburg Battlefield. It’s a campground located on a working farm. They had horses, goats, llamas (alpacas?, always get them confused) and more. We were able to purchase feed for the animals and hand feed them. They also had chickens and roosters running free throughout the campground. The amenities were good. We had a lot of fun here. The only draw back was the wifi. Probably the worst ever in a campground and we’ve been to quite a few campgrounds. Didn’t matter though we were there to relax in nature.
The best thousand trails campground we have been to. Lots of space to play, run, enjoy the area for kids! Petting zoo, mini golf, large pool. Very well maintained, spacious sites, clean bathrooms and showers. Highly recommend!
UPDATE: Learn how to cancel a reservation! We had a place to stay comfortably before we came here and could have adjusted instead of finding a place in the middle of the night. The rig next to us needed two pickup trucks to get out. After our 3rd time re-leveling after just a couple hours, we realized we were sinking, we got the hell out of dodge. We almost took out our BlueOx and generator exhaust pipe in the process. It was a mess for us as well as the other family. What a $%#4 show.
Just checked in within the hour. The campground is quite beautiful and the woman who checked us in was quite nice. She did try to get us into a proper site, but ultimately our only option is the 30 amp no hookup mud pit we're stuck in (that admittedly was our only option to book 4 months ago, but we didn't know about the lack of gravel or pavement to park on. 30 amp no hookup is honestly usually fine with us).
Getting a proper site for our rig given the site conditions would have entailed moving not once, but twice in 6 days. Sure, no one can predict the rain, but rain happens, it's been a season of it and they should know their property.
We appreciate the last ditch effort, the beautiful campground and the friendly greeting. However, we're quite annoyed that they had 4 months notice on our reservation, knew our size and presumably our weight if they run a campground. Our reservation had a note in there for one of their abundant 50 amp sites, which is common to have to do in the TT system.
Our assumption is that they pander to retail vs those of us who've put 20k into the system on membership upgrades. We still paid. It isn't our fault corporate may not distribute funds accordingly.
Let's also add dogs off leash for days. 2 great Danes, and another little guy at a site that deterred us from another option of a better site. Another dog just ran on to our mediocre site. Don't get me wrong, our dogs are fantastic off leash and interact way better, but when you don't know your neighbor... We love dogs and look forward to socializing ours.
We've had a lot of great experiences in the TT system and hopefully our stay turns around, but a little more effort ahead of check-in would be nice.
I was on the fence about getting seaon pass for 1000 Trails Gettysburg Farm just from the bad reviews it received in the past. They were wrong. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This place has so many things to keep you and the family busy. Very clean. Can't wait to book my next trip. Thanks for the great weekend 😀 …
The long term residents are a nightmare. I have 2 small kids and every time we tried to do anything the locals would yell and call the campground. The locals were trying to enforce rules that did not exist and would even accuse ppl of doing things that they did not. The staff apologized for the residents actions and the staff was very nice. It's a shame to be honest because my kids liked the animals and the pool. I will never go back!
Awesome TT park. if you wanted a example of what a RV park should be, this is it. Great staff, functionality, entertainment, services. Top rated 5 star. Enjoyed all the scenery, farm animals and surrounding area.
Amazing Farm setting. Recreation hall with very family-friendly atmosphere game room minigolf. Came as a guest of a member. Had a great time there. Beautiful well cared for animals. Very quiet. Off the beaten path
